Opiate of the masses? Social standards in Ukraine and the EU
Ukrainians do not understand social policy. Too many of us see the role of the state not as a guarantor of welfare, but as an inexhaustible Santa Claus. Despite the lamentable condition of the country's social safety net, we believe politicians' utopian promises.
