ICPS Foreign Policy Program Director Ihor Zhovkva on non-bloc status
On 23 July 2010, ICPS’s Foreign Policy Program Director Ihor Zhovkva was a guest on the “Dimensions of Life: The Law” program on Radio ERA-FM, which is being funded by the European Law Group.
This program was dedicated to foreign policy provisions in the recently adopted Law of Ukraine “On the Basic Principles for internal and external policy in Ukraine,” especially the concept of “non-bloc status.” Mr. Zhovkva went into detail to explain the meaning of this phrase, comparing it to the term “neutrality” and “non-alliance” and concluded with examples of how it is applied in diplomatic practice in Ukraine and other countries. The ICPS Foreign Policy Director also answered listeners’ questions on how this law would be applied.
